Pancake Day is a favourite of children in the UK, Ireland, Australia and Canada.This is a religious holiday on the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. In England, some towns have pancake races. People must run a race with a pancake that is still intact. Children like to have a go at tossing the hot pancake out of the frying pan.In Newfoundland, Canada, they put a rings or a coin in the pancake. The person who finds the coin will be rich and the person who finds the ring will be the next to get married.

"Carnival"
Carnival is traditionally used in areas with a large Catholic presence. The word Carnival derives from Latin and it means carnem levare, carnem, it is to remove the meat from the diet. People wear masks and costumes. Rio de Janeiro's carnival is considered the world's largest, hosting approximately two million participants per day. In 2004, Rio's carnival attracted a record 400,000 foreign visitors.

"Get on electric shock to stop buying things"
A British firm has developed a new product to help us save money. The product is a Wristband that gives us on electric shock if we spend too much money. The Wristband is called Pavlock. This Pavlok warns us not to overspend. The company is called Intelligent Evironments. It Wants to work with banks to help costumers with their money. The Pavlok wristband is part of the Internet of things. The CEO of Intelligent Evinronments David Webber, said people liked the idea of the Pavlok. The wristband delivers a 225-volt electric shock. Mr. Webber said the Pavlok would be great for people.

"Spotify"
This article "spotify" is about a popular commercial music streaming service. This website it gives possibility of listening in streaming on demand, free. In recent years the music industry has had a lot of problems, this is because people can download music on internet free, often illegally. Spotify it is a programme which lets you listen to music without having to download it illegally. When you create an account for the first time we have a six month free trial period. The creators Daniel Ek and Lorentzon Martin, developed the service in Sweden in 2006. Spotify was not on immediate success, in fact it had a considerable loss in 2008. In 2010 Symantec' s antivirus software marked Spotify as a kind of virus called Trojan horse and this stopped Spotify from working on millions of computers around the world. In the 2011 Spotify obtained the support of the motor record companies.

"The origin of Halloween"
Halloween is on holiday celebrated on October 31st. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and Christian holy day of all Saints. Halloween activities include "trick-or-treat", wearing costumes and attending costume parties, carving "Jack-o'-Lantern", ghost tours, bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.
